Professional Background
I have always had a gift for counseling. I got my early introduction from avidly reading books of all sorts and my eighth grade yearbook is full of entries like "you were my therapist" and "none of us would have made it without your counseling!"
I thoroughly enjoyed my Ob Gyn practice in Santa Cruz for 15 years and started a nonprofit Breast Cancer Support Project called The Missing Link. I did extensive pro bono counseling and teaching for the organization and felt a desire to work in a more in-depth level with patients.
I was fortunate in my ongoing study of pyschology to study with such greats as Pia Mellody, Rachel Remen, MD, and Marion Woodman, PHD. They really inspired me.
For the past 5 years I have felt the satisfaction of being able to use all of myself in my work. Learning a new field has been challenging, exciting and rewarding. I love seeing clients learn about themselves and heal as they discover their gifts and strengths and turn them into skills.
